YOGA ZONE

10:30 AM ALIGN & AWAKEN VINYASSA FLOW (Megan Kelly-Sasso)

This 30-minute class will guide you to clear alignment, yogic philosophy, breath work, and mindfulness as ways to help us awaken to a deeper level of awareness. I will include a few longer holds to help us gain strength and flexibility. We will also work with some flows to help us warm up and move consciously. Clear alignment by the Instructor where cues and hands on adjustment (where allowed) will be given in each pose so that students are safe and continually deepening their awareness of their own bodies. This is an all-levels class, where students will be encouraged to honor their body. Alternative poses will also be offered so that each student can make the practice what they need that day. Everyone will be invited to deepen their ability to be fully present in each moment. This mindfulness work lays the foundation to deeper consciousness and bliss as it will awaken us to who we are and allow us to have our own personal yoga experience.

ABOUT MEGAN: As the Owner and sole Instructor at Yog-AHHH! Studio in the newly revitalized downtown York SC, my instruction is a blend of Hatha & Vinyasa yoga while also incorporating Restorative & Yin yoga in my classes. Using props and various pose modifications as I seek to create an atmosphere of accessibility and safety for my students of all ages and levels of physical ability.  

My goal is to provide classes for students that are fun and creative, challenging and supportive while keeping to the belief that my role is that of guide and teacher, and that each student must listen to and honor their own body…………...Namaste’

In Pietra Fitness, each exercise class begins and ends with prayer.  While the physical workout strengthens and stretches our bodies, our hearts and minds are free to follow the advice of St. Paul and focus on things true, honorable, gracious, and excellent (Phil. 4:8).  We do this with scripture and a meditation read during stretches of longer duration.  Because gentle soothing movements and extended periods of stretching naturally foster relaxation and serenity, this type of exercise offers a great opportunity to turn our hearts and minds towards Christ.

ABOUT BETSY: Betsy Hoyt, wife, mother of 2 grown sons, Pietra Fitness Level 3 Certified Instructor, has been involved with Pietra Fitness for approx. 5 years. She currently teaches 6-7 classes per week at several parishes in the Diocese of Charlotte, NC. Betsy has been in the wellness industry since 2006 and currently owns EDH Solutions, LLC where she physically trains & nutritionally coaches special populations like: teens, perinatal women, seniors & de-conditioned women. Betsy’s integrative approach incorporates the virtue of femininity into each wellness plan she designs for her clients. As a Certified Personal Trainer and Precision Nutrition Coach, she uses her motivational & integrated training techniques to provide her clients with highly specialized and personalized wellness strategies. She assists her clients in achieving their goals by helping them discover their God-given “Feminine Genius.”

ABOUT LESLIE: Leslie has been teaching yoga for over 15 years. She has been with Life Time teaching LifePower yoga for 5 years. LifePower yoga is a powerful practice that allows the student to come as they are and experience their breath, presence, and freedom. Life Time hosts LifePower classes, yoga teacher training as well as workshops and life style programs.

ABOUT CYNTHIA: Cynthia is a fitness and nutrition enthusiast who loves to encourage people to achieve optimal physical, spiritual and emotional health.  Her journey to yoga came through a desire to understand the resistance she had toward it.  Through the modality, she has learned to identify and gently step toward pain, because that is where the healing is. She teaches Yoga to private group events and individuals and is the Breath & Mediation Coach for "Mission Fit" a ministry that brings fitness to pastoral staff in the Charlotte area.
